Sibanye Stillwater Waterval: Reflux Classifier Modular Plant

The project encompassed multiple essential components to optimise the plant’s operational efficiency:

• Earthworks Terrace: Extensive earthmoving operations to prepare the site for construction.
• Reinforced Concrete Structures: Building of thickener tanks, two reflux classifiers, stockpile slabs, and interplant pipe racks.
• Overflow Concrete Sump: Construction of a substantial overflow sump measuring 30x20x3 meters to manage excess water.
• Stacker Boom and Interplant Pipe Racks: Installation to facilitate the efficient movement and processing of materials within the plant

The project encountered difficulties with local plant hire companies not meeting their commitments, leading to potential delays. To mitigate these issues, we engaged various other plant hire companies, ensuring the continuity of work and maintaining project timelines.

Despite the modifications made during the project, the construction team completed the project on time, demonstrating effective project management and adaptability.

A total of 45 personnel, including both permanent staff and contractors, were involved in the project. Their collaborative efforts and commitment were pivotal to the project’s success.
